Editorial Policy

This page explains how articles on Home Primrose are researched, written, checked and updated. We want readers to know what to expect from a guide and what to do if something looks wrong.

Our goal

Every article should answer a real question in plain language. We write for people who are buying, installing or maintaining something in their home, and we try to give the practical details first: sizes, materials, safety points, costs and common mistakes.

Research and sources

We check facts such as dimensions, weight limits, materials and safety rules against manufacturer manuals and product pages, standards organizations and government safety agencies where they exist. When sources disagree, we show a range or say that numbers vary by product instead of picking one figure. We list the main sources at the end of each article.

Use of tools and AI

We use research and writing tools, including AI-assisted tools, to help prepare drafts. Tools do not replace checking. Facts, measurements and safety points are reviewed against sources, and anything we cannot confirm is left out or described as general guidance.

What we do not do

We do not invent statistics, test results, reviews, quotes or personal experience. We do not say we have tested a product unless we have. We do not promise results, rankings or savings. We do not accept payment to change what an article says about a product.

Safety and health topics

Articles that touch on child safety, weight ratings, electrical products, mold or health claims are treated with extra care. They are general information and do not replace the manufacturer instructions or advice from a qualified professional such as an electrician, plumber or doctor.

Updates and corrections

Each article shows its published date and, when it changes, an updated date. We review older articles and update them when prices, products or standards change. If you find an error, tell us through the Contact page. We correct confirmed mistakes as soon as we can and note significant corrections in the article.

Affiliate links and advertising

If an article contains affiliate links or ads, this is explained on our Disclaimer page. Links and ads do not change what we write about a product.
